Classic tracking services
Tracking
For us, tracking is not just a dot on the map but a complete fleet management system. Real-time position, route playback and full EU+ coverage: wherever the vehicle goes, you will see it.
International SIM card, full coverage. The international SIM card built into the device counts as domestic traffic throughout the EU, in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and North Macedonia. The extended package also includes Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and Ukraine. In every country, the device can use every mobile network, with a single SIM.
Intelligent data transmission, exceptionally accurate. The data transmission frequency varies between 1 and 10 seconds and automatically increases on events: ignition, change of speed, change of direction of more than 30°, bus door opening, insertion of a tachograph card and many other cases.
Made in Hungary, long warranty. The devices are made in Hungary, meeting the highest quality requirements. The standard warranty is 3 years; 5 years is also available on request. With ISO certificates.
Factory (OEM) telematics systems. We can also connect to the vehicle's factory telematics system and collect data from it, without installing a separate device.
Logbook
Not just route recording: the digital logbook automatically assigns the driver ID, fuel consumption and odometer reading. A note and a file can be attached to each line directly from the app, and it appears immediately on the desktop (in the office) as well. The templates are fully customisable.
Automatic data recording. The logbook does not just record the route: fuel consumption, odometer reading, tachograph- and RFID-based driver identification and the status of the private-trip switch are fed in automatically, and POIs and partners can also be selected.
Notes and files. A note and a file can be attached to each logbook line directly from the app, and these appear immediately on the desktop dispatcher interface as well.
Offline, multilingual mobile app. The app works fully even without internet. During a check abroad, the driver can present the required 56 days of logbook data immediately, without a mobile signal, in the inspector's language.
Custom templates. Our customers can edit the templates to suit their needs, even per vehicle, with the company logo — fully customisable. Standard templates are also available.
Coming soon: partner visit log. A new function built on the logbook app: filtered by partner, you will be able to see when the driver was there, how much time they spent, what note they wrote and what file they attached.
First daily departure monitoring
Automatic email notification of the vehicle's first departure on every calendar day. The notification is fully customisable — you can set who receives it and when.
External power monitoring
The system continuously monitors the voltage of the vehicle battery and the device's power supply. If the device is disconnected from power (for example during an attempted theft), it sends an immediate alert and continues to run on its built-in internal battery.
Three-level alerts. The device measures the external supply voltage and alerts at three levels: close to the deep-discharge voltage (11.9 V for 12 V systems, 23.9 V for 24 V systems), at critically low voltage (approx. 8 V), and if the external power disappears completely, for example in the event of sabotage or attempted theft.
Built-in backup battery. If the external power supply is lost, the built-in internal battery can run the device for 4–6 hours. In vehicles with a battery isolator, the device automatically enters sleep mode after 15 minutes to protect the battery. When power is restored, it is fully operational again within 1–2 minutes.
SOS
In an emergency, the driver can alert the control centre at the push of a button; the dispatcher receives a push notification, SMS or email with the exact location, and a custom message can be added.
Departure / stop monitoring
Instant notification of every departure and stop in the chosen way (email, SMS, push). You can set whether alerts are sent only for departures, only for stops or for both, and on which days the service runs.
Alarm system monitoring
Lets you know in real time when the vehicle's own alarm system goes off. As soon as the vehicle's alarm is activated, the telematics device detects it immediately and sends a push message, SMS or email to the designated persons.
Bonnet opening detection
An opening sensor fitted under the bonnet. If someone opens the bonnet, the system sends a notification immediately. You can set it to alert on opening, closing or both. Especially useful for car rental companies.
Movement monitoring
This protective function is used to detect unauthorised use of the vehicle and special cases of theft (such as towing away or loading onto a low-loader). The system reacts immediately to any physical movement that does not begin with the engine being started.
Operating zone
A virtual boundary can be defined that the vehicle may not leave. If the vehicle leaves the zone, the system automatically disables it. It can only be used on low-speed vehicles (scooters, golf carts, cleaning machines, Segways, etc.), where disabling does not pose a risk of accident.
Extended tracking services
Border crossing monitoring
Our system includes all borders in Europe, so we can send notifications not only about crossing the Hungarian border. As soon as the vehicle crosses the border of any European country, a notification is sent.
The entire border line, not just crossing points. The system monitors the actual border line, not just the official crossing points. If a vehicle crosses at the green border, a notification arrives immediately as well.
Customisable monitoring. You can specify which countries the notification applies to, and whether it alerts on entry, exit or both.
Accurate detection. Border crossings are detected at the actual border line, accurate to the metre.
Geofence monitoring
A virtual boundary can be defined (point and radius). If the vehicle leaves or enters it, the system sends a notification immediately. You can set when monitoring runs (for example only at night and at weekends).
Trip records
It summarises the logbook data, at both daily and periodic level.
This module summarises and organises the logbook data, enabling a comprehensive and detailed analysis of vehicle use. It can be queried by month, but also for a custom time interval.
Private use marked separately. Private trips are shown separately in both kilometres and time, for transparent settlement between business and private kilometres.
Odometer readings. The opening and closing odometer readings are visible for each day.
Direct logbook access. Any logbook can be opened from the summary with a single click, for example if a weekend movement needs explaining.
Operating time measurement
Logs the vehicle's operating time based on start-up and shutdown: when and where it was started, when it stopped, and how much it worked in total. Especially recommended for work machines.
Fuel consumption measurement
We obtain the fuel consumption directly from the vehicle's control system, based on the fuel injected by the injector. More accurate and tamper-proof than probe-based solutions.
Why not a probe? A fuel probe estimates consumption from level measurement and can be manipulated. We take the data from the vehicle's CAN system, directly from the injector: we measure exactly how much fuel the injector has injected. Depending on the vehicle, the measurement error is around 1%.
Where available. It only works on vehicles equipped with a CAN bus. It is typically available in modern cars, buses and trucks.
Where the data appears. The measured fuel consumption data is automatically processed in the logbook, the trip records and the fuel log as well.
Cargo door opening monitoring
An opening sensor fitted to the cargo doors signals immediately if someone opens the cargo area; the alert arrives within 3–5 seconds. Several doors can be monitored at once, and you can set it to alert on opening, closing or both.
Speeding monitoring
When a set speed is exceeded, the designated persons receive an immediate notification. You can set it to alert when the speed is exceeded, when it falls back below the limit, or both.
Engine left running and ignition left on monitoring
Unnecessary idling can be filtered out, which can result in significant fuel savings. If the vehicle is stationary but the engine is running, the system first notifies the driver and then the control centre as well.
Fuel cap opening detection
Using a sensor fitted to the filler neck, the system monitors the opening and closing of the fuel cap.
This solution monitors opening and closing events using a special sensor fitted in the vehicle's fuel cap or at the filler neck. The system records every single opening, preventing fuel siphoning into canisters and fuel manipulation. Because every opening is documented, drivers also know that access to fuel is under continuous supervision.
Temperature monitoring
Sensor-based temperature monitoring for cargo areas, passenger compartments or industrial equipment.
Three measuring ranges are available: −70 to +30 °C, −30 to +150 °C and 0 to +300 °C. When a limit is exceeded, an immediate notification is sent.
Machine operating status report
Precise measurement of the real working time of work machines and body equipment, distinguishing between driving time, idle waiting and actual work.
More than operating time measurement. While operating time measurement only records start-up and shutdown, the machine operating status module goes deeper: it precisely distinguishes whether the work machine was driving, idling or actually working under load.
What is it suitable for? The operating time of special work machines (excavators, loaders, cranes, agricultural machinery) and of body equipment mounted on vehicles (tail lifts, pumps, cranes, refrigeration units) can be measured separately.
Why is it useful? Knowing the real working time makes machine depreciation, service interval planning and subcontractor settlement more accurate.
Fleet management services
Object records
Not only vehicles but any asset can be recorded, with the relevant documents, expiry dates and warranty. (No telematics device is required.)
Any asset can be recorded. Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, site, tractor, container – if it has an expiry date, a warranty or a regular inspection obligation, the system handles it.
What can be attached. Documents, photos, notes, warranty items and time-based periodic tasks can be assigned to each object.
Automatic reminders. The system automatically sends notifications about upcoming expiries and services due.
Can also be shown on the map. Objects can be placed on the map with fixed coordinates.
Checklists can be run as well. Each object can have its own checklist, for on-site inspections directly from the app.
Tyre records
Lets you track the entire life cycle of every tyre in the fleet, from purchase to disposal. Tyres can be recorded by axle and wheel position; fitting, replacement and rotation can be recorded from the app.
Accurate position records. You can record which tyre is on which axle and wheel position of which vehicle, so the rotation scheme and even wear can also be tracked.
Warehouse management. Tyre warehouses can be created, and the entire stock can be recorded. Fitting, removal, replacement and rotation can be recorded directly from the app.
Coming soon: life cycle statistics. Based on the vehicle's GPS data, the system automatically calculates the kilometres covered by each tyre, even if it has been moved to another vehicle or trailer in the meantime. At disposal, the service life and value for money of different brands and types can be compared.
Vehicle and trailer records
Comprehensive records of vehicles and trailers, from technical data to document expiry. The system automatically warns you of upcoming deadlines.
Technical data. VIN, registration number, unladen weight, payload, tyre sizes and engine data can be recorded, for both vehicles and trailers.
Automatic expiry monitoring. The system monitors and gives timely warning of upcoming deadlines: roadworthiness test, lifting equipment inspection, insurance (third-party liability KGFB, comprehensive CASCO) and international permits.
History. You can look up which repairs each vehicle has undergone and when, who its previous users were, and which damage reports belonged to it.
Trailer with separate tracking. A separate telematics device can also be fitted to the trailer, so that, for example, cargo door opening on the trailer and the SOS button on the vehicle can be monitored independently of each other.
Checklist
Customisable checklists for vehicles, objects and tyres – before the daily departure, at handover and return, etc. – with photo documentation.
When can it be used? The checklist is not only suitable for the daily pre-departure inspection: it can be used at handover and return, for site inspections or for any regular inspection task.
Customisable questions. You can put together your own questions, answer options and photo instructions.
Photo documentation and automatic ticket. The driver can photograph damage or faults on the spot. From these, the system automatically generates a ticket for the control centre, without human intervention.
What can it apply to? Inspections can be run on vehicles, trailers, objects and tyres alike.
Direct fault reporting
Ensures that problems do not get lost among countless phone calls or verbal messages, but enter the repair workflow immediately.
Fast fault reporting, without administration. If the driver or a colleague notices a fault, they do not have to go through a whole checklist — they simply select the problem from predefined categories and submit it.
It enters the system immediately. The report is automatically turned into a ticket, and the responsible manager or the maintenance department is notified immediately — without a phone call or verbal message, in a traceable way.
Shorter reaction time. The sooner a fault enters the system, the sooner it can be repaired — reducing the vehicle's forced downtime.
Document management
Documents can be attached to any element of the system: to a vehicle, driver, site, object, company, periodic task or validity date alike.
Repair sheet
Faults recorded on the checklist or via direct fault reporting can be managed and closed here. You can document who repaired which fault and when.
Tyre tread depth and pressure measurement
The tread depth and pressure of every tyre can be recorded with the app, by wheel position. Wear statistics can be produced from the collected data, and incorrect wheel alignment can be detected.
Weather log
While the vehicle is moving, the system continuously logs the weather data for the vehicle's position. In this way, it automatically assigns the weather conditions at the time to every trip.
Advanced telematics services
Tachograph download
Data from digital tachographs and driver cards can be downloaded remotely and automatically, with monitoring of the legal deadlines and notifications. Especially useful for international hauliers and geographically dispersed fleets.
Automatic deadline monitoring. By law, the tachograph vehicle unit must be downloaded every 90 days and driver cards every 28 days. The system attempts to download the vehicle unit from day 70 and the cards from day 24. If this does not succeed, it sends a warning by email.
Who is it worth it for? Primarily for international hauliers and for companies whose vehicles are physically hard to reach, for example with multi-site operations or operations without on-site staff.
Fuel inventory
What does the accountant ask at the end of every month? How much fuel is in the vehicles. This module tells you: based on the tank size and the fuel level indicator, it shows the approximate current fuel stock of the fleet.
Pedal control
In-depth analysis based on CAN bus data. It monitors engine speed, accelerator pedal position and gears, giving an accurate picture of how hard the driver is "punishing" the machinery and whether they use the vehicle in the optimal range.
Driver behaviour analysis
We score driving style based on acceleration, braking and cornering dynamics, encouraging economical and safe driving. It helps reduce maintenance costs and accident risk.
32 parameters, two scores. The system measures acceleration, deceleration, cornering dynamics, cruise control use, idling time and fuel consumption, and condenses all of this into a driving-style score and an economy score.
Comparison with all drivers. A statistical model based on data from several thousand drivers in the system determines where a driver stands compared with the whole population.
Normalised fuel consumption. The consumption score mathematically filters out differences arising from the vehicle type, so the driver of a small car and the driver of a 40-tonne truck get comparable results.
Requirements. CAN bus and driver identification.
International trip and driving time report
It automatically totals how long each driver stayed and how much they drove, with which vehicle, in which country. Essential for settling posting allowances for work abroad and for minimum wage compliance.
Fuel analysis
Based on data extracted from the CAN bus, the system can examine in context exactly why fuel consumption is what it is.
Why is consumption what it is? Based on CAN bus data, the system shows consumption in detail: how much was used while driving and how much while stationary, for example during heating, cooling or waiting with the engine running.
Broken down by vehicle. The analysis is available per vehicle, so you can see exactly which vehicle consumes unjustifiably much, and why.
Fuel log
It automatically processes the vehicles' refuelling data based on fuel card invoices. It links the quantity fuelled, the time and the odometer reading, and then compares them with the measured consumption.
Supported cards. Processing of MOL, Shell, OMV, Orlen, DKV, UTA and Eurowag invoices, automatically assigned to the vehicle by registration number.
Fuelled vs. consumed. Next to the quantity fuelled, the system also shows (where available) the actual consumption measured from the CAN bus. This immediately reveals anomalies such as fuel theft or abnormally high consumption, which can also be caused by poor technical condition or an inappropriate driving style.
Odometer reading. The odometer reading is either taken from the invoice or retrieved automatically from the CAN adapter for the given time, independently of what the driver reports.
HUGO – E-toll
Automatically pays the Hungarian road toll (HU-GO e-toll) on toll sections based on the vehicle's position. The number of axles can be switched, and the sections and the amounts deducted can be listed, from both the app and the desktop interface.
Parking payment
Semi-automatic parking payment in all outdoor paid car parks in Hungary. It only needs to be started once; the system automatically extends and stops it, and sends a warning when the vehicle stops in a paid zone.
How does it work? Parking only needs to be started once; after that, the system automatically buys new tickets as long as the vehicle is there, and stops when it moves. At weekends and at night, parking is automatically paused and then resumed if the vehicle is still parked there.
Ticket purchase based on vehicle type. The system automatically knows how many parking tickets need to be bought for the vehicle: one for a car, several for a truck.
Paid zone warning. If the vehicle stops in a paid zone and parking is not started, the system sends a notification immediately.
Also without telematics. The app can also be used without a telematics device. In this case, parking is started and stopped manually.
Billing afterwards. Parking costs are invoiced in a summary at the end of the month.
Vehicle rental report
A special report for the rental period: logbook, speed chart, speed camera log, parking events and the last refuelling data in one place.
Configurable period. You can specify for which vehicle and for what period you need the report, accurate to the minute.
Km limit and excess. If a daily kilometre limit is set, the system calculates the excess in kilometres and as a percentage.
Speed chart and speed camera log. The report contains a speed chart and a list of the speed cameras in front of which the vehicle exceeded the speed limit, recorded for 1500 metres before and after the camera.
Parking. Data on the use of paid parking in Hungary is included. This matters because the obligation to present the parking ticket lies with the rental company.
Last refuelling. It shows when the vehicle last visited a filling station before it was returned, and how many kilometres it has covered since then.
NAV fuel savings
Based on the vehicle type, engine displacement and the type of route travelled, it calculates the official norm (Hungarian Tax Authority, NAV) and compares it with the actual consumption. The difference can be paid out to drivers tax-free.
How does it work? Based on Hungarian Government Decree 60/1992, the system calculates how much fuel the vehicle could have consumed: based on vehicle type, engine displacement, unladen weight and power output. This is adjusted by the driving conditions: motorway, city, Budapest, county seat, use of air conditioning and other factors. The resulting corrected norm is compared with the actual consumption.
What is the reward? If the driver consumes less than the norm, the value of the difference (calculated at the current official fuel price) can be paid out to them entirely tax-free under the Hungarian Personal Income Tax (SZJA) Act.
A real example. A courier company had 8 identical vehicles. In the first month, only 1 driver reached the maximum allowance of HUF 100,000, while the majority received less or nothing. Six months later, everyone was receiving it, and within one year all drivers reached the level of HUF 100,000 per month. As a bonus, the company's maintenance costs also fell significantly, as more economical driving was also gentler on the vehicles.
How much does the company save? The tax content of a net benefit of HUF 100,000 is approx. HUF 60–70,000. This is what the company saves per driver per month compared with a conventional pay rise.
API interfaces
Etrack
FleetControl can connect to the Etrack system.
Generic API
An open programming interface through which FleetControl data can be queried and integrated into any business system — ERP, CRM, transport management software or other applications.
How does it work? Anyone can generate an API key and use it to query data directly from the FleetControl system. Documentation is available for developers.
What can it be used for? With the API, FleetControl data (position, logbook, odometer reading, fuel consumption, etc.) can be imported automatically into any business system. There is no need for manual data entry or Excel exports.
Who is it worth it for? Companies that use their own ERP, CRM or transport management system and would like to supplement it with FleetControl data.
Secar
We can also connect to the Secar security system. FleetControl forwards cargo door opening data in real time, on the basis of which Secar authorises the loading of the vehicle.
Timocom
We can also connect to the Timocom FreightTech platform. FleetControl data can be integrated directly into the logistics system that connects hauliers, freight forwarders and shippers.
Sixfold
We can also connect to the Sixfold real-time transportation visibility platform (RTTVP). FleetControl's position and route data feed directly into Sixfold's shipment tracking and arrival prediction system.
MyBusDirect
FleetControl's telematics data is directly available in the MyBusDirect intelligent passenger transport platform. More about the service: mybus.direct
Opentravel
We can also connect to the OpenTravel ERP and service management system for coach and bus passenger transport.
Reporting
Monthly paid parking report
No need for paper receipts or collecting SMS messages: the system records all parking data digitally, and the monthly settlement is ready at the push of a button.
Partner visit log
Based on the logbook data, filtered by partner, you can see when the colleague was there, how much time they spent, and what note or file they attached.
What is it based on? The partner visit log is built from the data of the logbook app. It is not a separate system but a filtered, partner-focused view of the logbook.
What does it show? For each partner, you can see when the colleague arrived and left, how much time they spent on site, and what note or file they attached to the visit.
When will it be available? This function is currently under development.
Expiry and service due report
Every upcoming deadline in a single report: roadworthiness test, insurance, documents, services — automatically, by email, before they expire.
The system continuously monitors all validity and service data recorded for vehicles, trailers and objects, and sends a summary report to the persons responsible at the set frequency (daily, weekly, monthly): what expires, when, and for which vehicle. Service due dates can be tracked based on kilometres, operating hours or calendar days — the system reads the odometer reading automatically from the CAN bus, not from verbal reports. So deadline monitoring is not a matter of an Excel spreadsheet and the memory of an assigned colleague, but the system's job: everyone knows in time what is due.
Custom report development
If the ready-made reports do not include what you need, we develop it: we create a custom report from any data stored in the system.
Every fleet settles accounts differently: different clients, different accounting, different internal KPIs. As part of custom report development, we produce reports from the data stored in FleetControl with the content, structure and frequency defined by the customer — whether it is proof of service to be sent to a client, a management summary or base data for payroll. The report is generated automatically on the set schedule and arrives by email. Because we develop the software ourselves, a custom requirement is a development task for us — not a rejection email.
Custom services
ERP integration
FleetControl data flows directly into your enterprise resource planning system: logbook, kilometre, fuel and cost data, without manual transfer.
With ERP integration built on the open Generic API, fleet data can be transferred automatically to the enterprise resource planning, invoicing or payroll system: trip records and logbook data for accounting, fuel and cost data for controlling, service delivery data for invoicing. Depending on your needs, we carry out the integration ourselves or support the customer's developers with documentation — the goal is the same in both cases: the data should be created once and reach everywhere by itself.
CAN reverse engineering
If the on-board data of a vehicle type is not standard, our engineers reverse-engineer it — which is why we can measure factual data even where others only see position.
The range and format of the data available on the CAN bus differ by manufacturer, by type and even by model year — especially for work machines, buses and special body equipment. Where the standard data set is not enough, our own engineering team reverse-engineers the CAN communication of the given type: this makes actual fuel consumption, operating hours, engine speed or the operation of body equipment measurable even on vehicles that off-the-shelf systems do not support. This is one of the biggest advantages of our own development: the vehicle does not adapt to the system — the system adapts to the vehicle.
Custom requirements
We develop both the hardware and the software ourselves — if you need something that does not exist yet, we will build it.
At PetTrack Zrt., the entire chain — from manufacturing the device to the server-side software — is in our own hands, so a custom requirement is not an obstacle for us but a workflow: connecting a custom sensor, special alert logic, an industry-specific workflow or an app function can all be implemented. We specify the requirement together, with a committed delivery time and — where it makes sense — a pilot. A significant share of our customers use at least one function that was originally developed at their request and then enriched the whole system.
