How does automatic payment of the HU-GO e-toll work?

Truck with a blue cab and a body bearing the FleetControl logo

In short

HU-GO is Hungary's distance-based toll system for trucks over 3.5 tonnes. With automatic payment, the telematics device installed in the vehicle declares and pays the toll on the toll sections based on the vehicle's actual position — without buying route tickets and without manual administration. In the FleetControl system, the number of axles can also be switched, and the sections and the amounts deducted can be listed.

How is this different from a manual declaration?

With a manual declaration (route ticket), the route has to be specified in advance: a deviation, a missed ticket purchase or an incorrect axle setting may result in a fine. With automatic, position-based payment, the system pays for the toll sections actually travelled — changing the route is not a risk.

What does the fleet manager see?

The toll sections and the amounts deducted can be listed for every vehicle — in the app and in the office interface alike. Together with parking payment (semi-automatic start, automatic extension and stop, monthly report), the vehicle's costs on the road can be settled digitally, without paperwork.
