OEM factory data connection
28 brands · 33 powertrains · no installation
Connect without installation – from your car's factory data, even with a single car.
A large share of newer vehicles come with a factory-fitted telematics system — it is just that nobody uses it. With the OEM data connection, FleetControl collects data directly from the manufacturer's interface: no installation, no warranty risk, no downtime. For older vehicles there is the installed device — the two can be combined within one fleet, on a single interface.
We currently offer a factory (OEM) data connection for 28 car brands, 33 variants including powertrains – check below whether it works with your car, by brand, powertrain and model year. We only display the data sets the manufacturer makes available, as often as the manufacturer sends them – depending on the brand, as often as every second, or only at the end of a trip. The service is intended for fleet vehicles used for business purposes. The 99.9% data transmission guarantee applies only to our own installed devices, not to the factory data connection.

Does it work with my car?
Select the brand, the powertrain and the model year: we show whether it connects with factory data, how often data arrive and what the manufacturer sends.

Model years are indicative: the factory data connection can differ by model, so we check it by VIN. We only show the data sets the manufacturer makes available, as often as it sends them.
How do you find out whether your fleet is suitable?
The availability of the factory data connection depends on the brand, model and model year. Complete the fleet audit — based on the model year range you enter in the questionnaire, we will tell you which of your vehicles can be connected without installing a device, and for which we recommend an installed device.
The benefits
- No device installation: the data comes from the factory telematics of the newer vehicle — the vehicle is not opened up, and the factory warranty is unaffected
- Immediate start: after activation, the vehicle appears on the FleetControl interface
- Position, odometer reading and ignition from the factory system; depending on the brand, fuel level, service data and fault codes
- In case of theft: the OEM system's location tracking supports locating the vehicle — as one of our real cases also shows
- Mixed fleet on one interface: new OEM-connected vehicles + older vehicles with installed devices together
- For car dealers: tracking loaned test and replacement cars and stock vehicles without opening them up
- Odometer authenticity: comparing factory data with the GPS-based counter is also a selling point for used cars
Results
-

How a reprogrammed odometer was exposed by the GPS-based parallel counter.
Recommended devices
- OEM data connection — for newer vehicles, without installing a device, from the factory system
- UniTrack tracker — made in Hungary, 3–5-year warranty, CAN connection
Recommended services
Of FleetControl's 55 service modules, we recommend these packages for this sector.
-
OEM basic package (newer model years)
Tracking · Odometer data · Expiry and service due report
-
Safety package
Movement monitoring · Geofence monitoring · Alarm system monitoring · Border crossing monitoring
-
Add-on for older vehicles (with installed device)
Fuel consumption measurement (CAN/injector-based) · Logbook · Trip records · Driver behaviour analysis
What the manufacturer sends – and what it does not
- You only see the data sets the manufacturer makes available – as often as the manufacturer sends them.
- The 99.9% data transmission guarantee applies only to our own installed devices, not to the factory data connection: manufacturers give no guarantee for it.
- Factory data offers no driver identification or immobiliser, and the data set cannot be extended – these need an installed device.
- The service is for fleet vehicles used for business. Activation requires consent given in the manufacturer's app; if privacy mode is switched on in the car, no position data arrive.
Frequently asked questions
Which vehicles does the OEM data connection work with?
Typically with newer vehicles equipped with factory telematics; exact availability depends on the brand and model. Based on the model year range you enter in the fleet audit questionnaire, we will tell you specifically which vehicles can be connected.
Is the factory warranty affected?
No: with the OEM data connection, no intervention is made on the vehicle — the data arrives via the manufacturer's official interface.
What about the older vehicles in the fleet?
For those, we recommend an installed telematics device — both solutions appear uniformly on the same FleetControl interface.
Which car brands' factory data does FleetControl work with?
Currently with 28 brands, 33 variants including powertrains: Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Citroën, Cupra, Dacia, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, SEAT, Škoda, Tesla, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Volvo. The platform is the same, only the data source differs, and the factory data connection and installed devices can be mixed within one fleet. Which data sets are available and how often they are updated depends on the manufacturer.
How often are factory data updated?
It differs by brand, powertrain and model year: the fastest send position data approx. every second, others only at the end of the trip. The checker above shows the exact value.
Is there a data transmission guarantee for factory data?
No: the 99.9% data transmission guarantee applies only to our own installed devices. Manufacturers give no guarantee for factory data.
